Steel & reinforcement

Bar grade, diameter and length define a reinforcement order, so give the grade, such as Fe 500, the diameter in millimetres and the quantity in tonnes. Binding wire is ordered by gauge and coil weight, steel mesh by wire diameter and spacing, and structural steel by section type, size and length. Ask for mill test certificates where the job needs them. Bar bending and structural design are for qualified engineers and contractors.
