Sand & aggregates

Volume is how these materials are bought, but size and cleanliness should be specified. River sand and M-sand differ in grading and fines content, and the right one depends on whether the work is plaster, masonry or concrete. Coarse aggregate is ordered by nominal size, 20 mm or 12 mm for example, and stone dust for filling and bedding. State the quantity in tonnes or cubic metres and the delivery point.
