Walling material is chosen for weight, insulation and the wall’s role. Clay and fly ash bricks are ordered by size and compressive strength class. AAC blocks are light and easy to cut, and are specified by density, size and jointing mortar, while concrete blocks come solid or hollow. Give the wall thickness needed and whether the wall is load-bearing, since that limits the choice, and confirm structural use with the engineer.
