Fall protection

Fall protection is a system rather than a single item: harness, lanyard, anchor point and, where needed, a fall arrestor must be compatible and rated for the same use. Harnesses are covered by IS 3521; check the current edition. Specify harness type, number of attachment points, lanyard length and energy absorber, anchor type, and the weight range of workers. Selection, inspection and use should be overseen by a person trained in work at height.
