IT purchases are specified by workload and by the refresh cycle the organisation plans. Desktops, laptops, servers and networking equipment differ in processor class, memory, storage, ports and warranty term. Give the number of users, the applications they run, operating system, memory and storage needs, network speeds and port counts, rack space for servers, and the warranty period wanted. Configuration should be confirmed with the internal IT team before ordering.
