HVAC assets

Cooling capacity is set by heat load, not floor area alone. Split ACs, VRF systems, chillers and air handling units span a range from a single cabin to a whole building. Specify capacity in tonnage or kW, area and occupancy, ceiling height, glazing exposure, refrigerant type, efficiency rating and outdoor unit space. Larger systems benefit from a load calculation by an HVAC designer, and refrigerant handling and commissioning belong to trained technicians.
